I was having supper with Paul and Leroy one day at Bedok Corner Food Centre. They are all living around the area and recommended me to try “Bedok Corner Hokkien Prawn Mee“. Unfortunately, it was already closed that day so I decided to go back on my own to try it again the following week.
On my second visit, I went on a Sunday for a early dinner at about 5.20pm. There was already a long queue on people waiting to buy the hokkien prawn mee. I was happy to have my plate of hokkien mee within 20 minutes. But on a sad note, when I went to queue for Ye Lai Xiang Cheng Tng after that, it was sold out. 🙁
Instead of using the laksa kind of thicker bee hoon, Bedok Corner Hokkien Prawn Mee uses the thinner bee hoon, which I feel is more difficult to cook well as compared to the thicker version.
Yes the yellow noodles and bee hoon were well soaked with the superior stock but I felt the stock can be stronger and more flavourful. I think my favourite is still Ah Hock Fried Hokkien Mee at Chomp Chomp Food Centre.
But well, if you add in abit of their sambal belachan, it definitely tastes better!
