Blue Label Pizza & Wine – Great Atmosphere and Yummy Pizzas!

By the same guys who brought you Luke’s Oyster Bar & Chop House, Blue Label Pizza & Wine is a new pizzeria located in Ann Siang. There isn’t a prominent signage that points you to where the pizzeria is, but just look for bright royal blue walls.

As one can tell from its name, Blue Label Pizza & Wine focuses very much on pizzas. Don’t expect to get steak or even pasta here! What they do have, apart from pizzas, are pretty awesome appetisers.

We tried one of their signature appetizers, the Blue Label State Fair Fries ($25), and we were hooked. Featuring hand-cut Idaho potatoes, the fries were fried to golden brown perfection. The fries are then placed on a bed of black pepper gravy and aioli, and topped with a fried egg and shaved truffle. Burst the yolk and watch the yellowy goodness flow down the mountain of fries. 

The pizzeria has a wide selection of pizzas which include their Blue Label Special (market price), that changes ever so frequently based on the freshest produce that the market has to offer. Other noteworthy dishes include the J-Dog ($32), which is a cross between a hot dog and a pizza, as well as Dr. Pepperoni ($31), a classic done up Blue Label style.

We had The Travis Supreme ($31), which was supposedly a cross between a burger and a pizza. Topping the sesame crusted pizza were a few chunks of ground beef patties, pickles, cheddar-bacon melt and a generous amount of lettuce. Although I do prefer my burgers in an actual bun, this version of burger-pizza was decent, and refreshing. The ‘special sauce’ was way too tart for my liking though. I also feel that the pizza could use more meat. 

The pizzeria also has an extensive wine list as well as an in-house sommelier, so diners can have interesting wine pairings with their pizzas. Blue Label Pizza & Wine is a great place for lunch, or for some tipples after work. Prosecco at 6, anyone?
