Burger Buddies – Cheap and good burgers at Essen!

Hey bud, fancy some big juicy burgers without breaking your bank?

Taking over the former El Jefe Corner stall at Essen@The Pinnacle, Burger Buddies is a new kid at Essen, serving some real good burgers without a hefty price tag.

All burgers are priced at an average of $14 and nothing is priced above $16. Hot favourites include the Mushroom Beef ($14.90), Grilled Beef Sandwich ($15.90), and Chicken Pineapple ($12.90). If you are feeling adventurous, go for something more interesting and unique like the Rendang Beef ($14.90) or the Duck Burger ($14.90).

With every burger, you can choose to have a free side of salad doused generously in a tangy balsamic dressing, or thick-cut crisp fries. I say go for the latter – because fries make all things nice and we just gotta live like its #fryday every day!

The Mushroom Beef burger features a generous 180g beef patty, sauteed mushrooms, arugula, a slice of cheddar cheese and cream that came slobbering down all over the homemade beef patty. 

I requested for my patty to be done medium-rare. However, slicing the burger into half revealed no pinkish hue at all. The beef patty, though thick and tender, could perhaps use a little more seasoning.

CHICKEN
The Pineapple Chicken, though the cheapest burger on the menu, has a flavour that resonates with me more than the Mushroom Beef.

It’s well seasoned, and surprising softer and juicier than the beef patty. Juices were just oozing out with every bite I took. Oh and together with the grilled pineapple, this chicken burger just got a whole lot more delicious. 

Buns:
Great burgers don’t just come with great patties. The buns have to be good too. The buns here are a little too airy and too soft. However, I love that they are generously buttered and grilled till toasty brown.

The thick homemade patties served here will definitely fill you up, and they are very affordably priced. What are you waiting for? Head down with your best bud today!
