Day 2 in Club Med Phuket. Woke up and sat by the pool to enjoy the baby blue sky.
I took a stroll to the Zen Pool to take some photos. Inspired by the success of a pool concept in Club Med Bali, this new adult Zen Pool offers a spectacular view of Kata Bay.
Surrounded by comfortable long chairs and gazebos, it is the perfect retreat for couples to spend some quiet moments together.
And before you knew it, I decided to dump everything in the room and jumped into the pool!
Dennis had a camera suitable for underwater, so we camwhore in the water. I was wearing my contact lens so I don’t dare to open my eyes!
Do I swim like a pro? Actually, I CAN’T SWIM AT ALL! LOL!
1,2,3…JUMP!
Lunch was at the renovated Main Restaurant. This restaurant has 5 different pavilions, named Taste, Fragrances, Music, Colors and Material, each evoking one of the five senses.
The themes have been developed in order to follow the Thai art of living. You can choose to sit in these different themed pavilions whilst enjoying an international gourmet buffet.
There are 90 new Asian-spired dishes which includes Chef Flavors (featuring dishes that are individually plated in front of guests).
Grilled Fish with Char Grilled Broccoli, Ginger and Garlic
Fish Fillet with Bacon & Apple Stew
And there’s a whole range of desserts for sweet tooth lovers!
You can view the beautiful Kata Beach while eating!
After a lovely lunch, we did archery! Anthony from Indonesia taught us how to do it. He is a very funny guy.
You think archery is easy? No, it’s definitely not especially for beginners. Ok here are some unglam shots.
You will be sideways with one foot in front of the other (foot depends on which hand you hold your bow with). If you are right handed, you have to use your left hand to hold the bow.
Then you have to try to pull the string as close to your eyes as possible. As you can see, I am frowning because I am so afraid that I will hurt my eyes.
I am supposed to close my left eye and OPEN my right eyes. But I CLOSED BOTH MY EYES, turned my head behind, screamed and let go of the arrow! wahahahaha
Please go ahead and laugh at me. It’s not easy ok! You try and see lah!
Ok on the second try I got better. But I am still afraid to put the string close to my eyes. So in the end, all my arrows landed everywhere except the target.
Not I shoot one. Mine are all on the floor 🙁
Archery can be very tiring. After 3 arrows, I sat down and drank a coconut while watching other guests play golf.
When I was a kid, I have no limits when it comes to adventurous games. But now, I think I have reached a stage where I get very timid. (I don’t even dare to try the roller coaster ride in USS.) So when Dennis asked me to try the trapeze with him….
I decided to just be the photographer!
I don’t want to be a circus performer so I rather not disgrace myself up there by screaming and trembling.
This was done by one of the staff! *claps*

After which, I chilled out at the newly renovated Oval Concept Bar which stands out in purple mixed with bright colors. Modern, yet very warm and friendly, the bar becomes the centerpiece of the resort.
The Lounge, where guests can enjoy an awesome view of the ocean, is furnished with low wooden tables, plush armchairs and sofas crafted by local artisans. The area is designed to be an ideal spot for leisurely moments with family or meeting new friends.
After a tiring afternoon, I sat down and waited for the sunset to come. I think part of the reason why I love this place is because this is the most beautiful sunset I have seen in my life.
Perhaps there are also beautiful sunset in Singapore but we are often so busy to really have time to sit down and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
At times, I walked along the beach and let the sea water brushed through my legs. At times, I sat at the chair and watch the joggers ran past my sight. The magical moment of the sun slowly setting is so memorable yet short lived.
Beautiful background, I must be part of it!
After dinner, there was a magic show.
AND BEACH PARTY!
We were actually abit tired from last night partying but how can we miss this?
The most amazing thing we did that night, was to release the sky lanterns into the sky.
The sky lantern is believed to carry away troubles and make your dreams come true.
One by one, the lanterns are released. They carried our wishes into the sky. The sight of the lanterns rising against the night sky can be a beguiling spectacle.
Exciting fire performance!
My Day 2 ended with a blast!
Part 3 (final) coming soon.
