Crossroads Buffet Invites You to an All-You-Can-Eat Feast of Asian and Western Dishes!
August 29, 2022
Buffets will always be one of our favourite things to indulge in because we can feast to our hearts’ content and get our money’s worth! Located within the lobby of Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, Crossroads Buffet is the place to treat yourself to a repertoire of Western and Asian cuisines. From comfort-worthy dishes to rich palatable offerings, the gastronomic all-you-can-eat experience is one you wouldn’t want to miss out on.
Elegant yet casual at the same time, the air-conditioned interior is the ideal spot for business meetings, or a quality catch up session with family and friends. I also love the layout of the buffet which allows you to circle round and check out everything they have to offer in one trip.
A weekend highlight that will instantly catch your eye is their Seafood on Ice, where a bounty of fresh seafood awaits. Get cracking with their Poached Slipper Lobster, New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels, Poached River Prawns and Steamed Whelk, all of which are served on rotation. Pair them with accompanying condiments such as lemon wedges, capers, pickled shallots and horseradish that will really bring out the flavours of the ocean superbly.
Kick things off with the Salad Bar or go right for the ready-made salads like the Compressed Watermelon Salad with Boccocini, and Tofu and Tempeh Protein Asian Salad. They also have mini servings like Uni Tsukemen, and Unagi with Sunomono Salad that’s easy to gulp down!
Prefer to build your own charcuterie board (or plate)? Explore their antipasti and cheese section filled with a mix of cold cuts, hard and soft cheeses.
There’s always a thrill in watching your food prepared live before you and served right from the stove. The live Pasta Station gives you the freedom to select your choice of pasta, sauces such as White Wine Bacon Cream, and Roast Garlic and Chilli Oil, and toppings like caramelised onion, garlic confit, baby prawn and bacon. Play chef, get creative, and have an excellent plate of pasta whipped up before your very eyes!
One of our favourite combinations is Ravioli in Pesto and of course, you can’t beat the classics which includes Penne with Basil Tomato, cooked al dente (just the way we like it!).
You definitely shouldn’t skip out on the live Carving Station featuring premium cuts of meat such as Sticky BBQ St. Louis-style Pork Rib and Slow Roasted Beef Brisket. We especially couldn’t stop going back for the slices of beef brisket that were so amazingly tender that it was one step away from melting in our mouths. Don’t forget to douse it with a healthy serving of the red wine-based sauce!
For dinner, you will find mouth-watering favourites such as Yoghurt Roasted Open-Butterflied Chicken, Beef Cheek Bourguignon, Salmon Confit, Har Lok Crab and more – we promise you will be spoilt for choice!
Craving for familiar Asian flavours? Head over to the Noodle Bar that comes with a dizzying amount of choices for you to create the perfect bowl of noodles. Select your desired type of carbs such as yellow noodle, kuay teow, laksa noodles and mee tai mak, and pair it with deliciously heady soup bases like tom yum, kimchi, beef and laksa broth. There’s also a score of vegetables, meats and condiments to complement your noodles.
Speaking of Asian favourites, load up on dishes such as Singapore Fried Egg Noodles with Char Siew, Salted Fish Fried Rice with Green Bean, Prawn and Beansprout, Braised Egg Tofu with Vegetables, Fried Beehoon with Bottleneck Clams and Oatmeal Soft Shell Prawns. There’s even a Chinese Barbecue station with Roast Duck, Roast Chicken, Crispy Pork Belly and BBQ Char Siew Pork!
We love Indian food and Crossroads Buffet pulled off their slew of dishes brilliantly. We especially relished the Brinjal Masala, Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala and Basmati Biryani Rice, finished off with Assorted Papadum.
Over on the Western side of the room, moreish choices of Charred Cauliflower with Feta Cheese and Pumpkin Seed Butter, Baked Garlic Vine Tomato with Pesto Dressing and Sausage Stuffed Squid in Adobo Sauce are in store. You’ll also be going back for more servings of their tender Braised Beef Cheek because we definitely did.
A proper buffet isn’t complete without a stunning variety of desserts. Their quaint dessert cups are not only pretty, but exceptionally yummy as well. There is also an array of cakes, tarts, Asian desserts like Peach Gum with White Fungus and an ice-cream section, not to mention a heavenly-looking Bread and Butter Pudding with sides of vanilla and chocolate sauce!
