Fish & Chicks Refreshes Their Menu with Exciting Additions like Lobster and Lychee Sauce Dory Fish!

Classic Western fare meets intriguing Asian spins at Fish & Chicks! Here’s where you can find hefty portions of beautifully battered fish, grilled chicken chops, innovative sauces and more. While their signatures reign true and remain as constant big hits with their customers, it’s the exciting launches of new menu items that’s always keeping us on our toes, and beyond excited.

The brand first started out in October 2015 and has since expanded massively. They have a total of ten outlets across the island! Inspired by zi char fare, the team behind Fish & Chicks experimented with a blend of sauces with local and Asian influences to further bring out the goodness of their Western dishes.

A truly opulent gastronomic experience awaits with the Lobster Aglio Olio Pasta ($15.90). Choose between five different sauces – salted egg, charred tomato, chilli crab, mentaiko, and miso ponzu – to pair with your crustacean. You can also swap out aglio olio for other kinds of pasta such as mentaiko, salted egg, chilli crab, and carbonara pasta, for $2.90.

We went with the mentaiko sauce and a generous amount was slathered onto our lobster. Dig into the meaty flesh of the crustacean and enjoy the juicy lobster flesh with the creamy, umami-filled sauce. Talk about a sinful indulgence! To savour the lobster flesh in its purest form, crack open the pincer and go nuts. Their side of aglio olio was just as equally addictive that we wouldn’t mind scarfing down a whole plate of it on its own. 

For folks with really big appetites, the Lobster & Fish Aglio Olio ($19.90) is the way to go. This time, we went with chilli crab sauce on our lobster and boy, this was yet another amazingly delicious choice you can’t miss. The spicy and sweet sauce coated the top of the lobster nicely, and went superbly with the lobster meat. 

The dory fish was liberally drizzled with salted egg sauce, giving the flaky battered fish an extra boost of sweet-saltiness. The sauce was full of flavour but didn’t overwhelm the natural flavours of the dory fish.

Yet another new item making its debut on the menu is their Lychee Sauce that can be paired with Fried Cod Fish ($16.90), Dory Fish ($12.60), and Fried Chicken ($12.60). Once again, we opted for the dory fish and the golden brown fried fish was loaded with a delicately sweet sauce  perfumed with the gentle fragrance of lychee. If that’s not enough fruity goodness for you, the fish also comes topped with pieces of juicy lychee and chunks of capsicum. 

The final latest addition we got to try was the Black Pepper Hotdog Bun Set ($7.90) that came with sides of creamy mushroom soup and crispy fried chicken skin that were seasoned to a tee. The hotdog was sandwiched between the fluffy bun and laden with a heap of saucy ground beef that was very flavourful and peppery. We loved how generous they were with the beef and there was more than enough to go around with every bite! 

We also revisited a slew of classic signatures and one of our undeniable favourites was the best-selling Best of Both Worlds ($15.90) that sees two large pieces of dory fish doused with chilli crab and salted egg sauce each. For a no-frills and traditionally simple meal, you can’t go wrong with the Classic Fried Cod Fish ($13.90), or Chargrilled Chicken ($9.70) drizzled in a savoury brown sauce.

Apart from their slew of seafood and chicken dishes, there’s also pasta on the menu and the Truffle Carbonara Pasta has a delectable aroma of truffle infused into the creamy carbonara sauce. You’ll also get your fill of protein here from options such as the flawlessly-grilled chicken chop.

Fish & Chicks have outdone themselves once again with their latest menu additions and their mainstays are just as satisfying as ever. We can’t wait to see what else they have in store, but until then, we’ll be making yet another trip to the nearest outlet again!
