I still remember the first time I tried Flourful Delight at Army Market in 2019. We hadn’t planned to eat there but were intrigued by the number of tables laden with their Xiao Long Bao. One bite was all it took to become a fan. Fast forward to 2025, and I am thrilled to see the brand expanding, with their latest outlet now in Bukit Panjang.

This new branch continues to uphold the tradition of freshly wrapped, in-house dumplings made daily. Besides the signature items that Flourful Delight is known for, this outlet also introduces exciting new dishes to its repertoire, ensuring there’s always something fresh to try.

During my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting the founder, Chef Lei, in person. His journey into F&B is inspiring—he transitioned from working in a casino to learning the art of cooking with no prior experience. Chef Lei sharpened his skills cooking for travelers in hostel kitchens during his own adventures. Later, he trained under an ex-Tung Lok chef for two years and spent another year perfecting his recipes before launching Flourful Delight.

Flourful Delight’s Xiao Long Bao remains reasonably priced for a food court setting. The dumplings are slightly larger than usual, with translucent, delicate skins encasing a juicy, flavorful pork filling. The meat-to-skin ratio is just right, and don’t forget to pair with their vinegared ginger. They also serve Wanton in Chilli Oil and Zha Jiang Mian.

A new item at Bukit Panjang outlet is the Scallion Oil Noodles with Pork Chop. This dish combines chewy, perfectly cooked noodles with an aromatic scallion oil that steals the show. The noodles are well-seasoned, and the onion-y fragrance from the scallion oil is irresistible. The pork chop is tender, juicy, and offers a satisfying bite that complements the noodles beautifully.

Another new dish is the hearty Fried Chicken Chop with Noodle Soup. Fried a la minute, the fried chicken chop is crispy on the outside yet succulent on the inside. When paired with the comforting noodle soup, it creates a balanced meal that’s satisfying. If you prefer something stronger in flavour, go for the Hot and Sour Soup which strikes the right balance between tangy and spicy.

Next time you’re in Bukit Panjang, don’t miss the chance to visit Flourful Delight. Whether you’re a fan of their classic Xiao Long Bao or want to try something new like the scallion oil noodles, there’s something for everyone.
