Hands up if you are a Subway fan!
Subway Singapore has brought back their Beef Pastrami Sub for a limited time offer till 31st August. YAY! For those of you who have no idea what exactly pastrami is, let me give you a summary. Pastrami is a deli meat that has been seasoned and smoked. It looks abit like bacon but definitely tasted much better than bacon!
I started eating Subway when I was in university. I would grab a sandwich almost everyday because I can eat it on the go and it is so yummy! Now that I have start working, my favourite Subway branch is the one at Toa Payoh HDB Hub because I can people-watch while eating my sandwiches.
I like Subway because everything is so systematic. You will be guided to 6 steps and within minutes, you will get your fresh and yummy sandwich.
So yesterday, I ordered a 6 inch Beef Pastrami for dinner. It has a wonderful flavor, texture and aroma, when toasted, it is very crispy.
Then I requested to add some cheese before putting it into the oven to toast. I like the melted cheese taste on my bread.
When I come Subway, I always can’t make up my mind which vegetables to choose from. So most of the time, I will take ALL of them (I am not called Miss Tam Chiak for nothing! haha). But this time, because I want to take nice photo of my sandwich, I chose only lettuce and tomatoes. It is a difficult decision ok!
Ok people, we are reaching the ending point and my customized sandwich is going to be ready in no time! Everyone loves Subway sandwiches because of the sauces. I really can’t decide what sauce to have, usually I will request a mix of 3 sauces together. I asked the friendly sandwich artist for recommendations and she introduced me to Chipotle Southwest sauce.
Of course must complete the meal with a cup of coke and a white chip macademia nut.
My beef pastrami sandwich IS READY! Whoohoo! The pastrami has sprinkled some black pepper on it, giving it a nice distinct flavour. It isn’t tough to chew and the sandwich artist is very generous with the meat. The tomatoes and lettuces give it the crunch, which is a good contrast with the meat. Not forgetting the Chipotle Southwest sauce which goes well with anything smoked.
Here’s a shot of me with my Subway Beef Pastrami sandwich, I am a happy girl! The savoury flavoured Subway Beef Pastrami sub costs only S$6.90 for 6″ and S$11.40 for foot long sub. Pick it up while you can!
They have launched a “I’ve got beef pastrami on my mind!” campaign and here’s a nice video of the beef pastrami sandwich, featuring Silver Ang.
