King’s Roasts @ Balestier Food Centre – Roasting Sio Bak Using Combi Oven!

King’s Roasts is a humble stall located in the premises of Balestier Food Centre, serving up quality roasted meat by a creative Chef Kingsley Tan. With 11 years of culinary experience and training in both Asian and Western cuisines, Chef Kingsley Tan’s experience covers 5 star establishments such as The Sentosa Resort & Spa, Tung Lok and Hansang Korean Family Restaurant to name a few. Currently the Culinary Consultant of Oriental Buds, Chef Tan prides in creating innovative dishes with the use of basic raw ingredients, as displayed in the culinary competition programme “Simply Exquisite” on Mediacorp Channel 8.
At King’s Roast, roasting of the meats is done via a combi oven. This method is widely used in hotels, which garners great control over the ability to retain its moisture without compromising on the results. You can be guaranteed that the meat is done well to achieve the desired result because the temperature and timing is already calibrated. By delivers consistent roasting for every batch and retaining the essential moisture for the meat, each piece of meat remain juicy upon every bite.
We also tried some other dishes such as Char Grilled Chicken Chop ($6.50) with BBQ sauce and Char Grilled Pork Chop with black pepper sauce ($6.50). Each course comes with fries OR garlic butter rice and coleslaw.
