The fiancé and I are not exactly cafe crazy people. He prefers spending his weekends lazing in bed longer, rather than travelling to some ulu (but crowded) places to have brunch (i.e. Chye Seng Huat). As for me, I rather go for my morning workout and have a good meal in a nearby hawker centre.

But once in a while, when I really want to find a quiet place to chill out and have a lovely brunch, he will agree. On one of the weekdays when both of us just needed a break, we visited Kith Cafe in Park Mall. We were there for a late lunch but I didn’t expect the place to be so crowded.

We started our lunch with Chicken Sandwich ($12). While the bread was toasted till crisp, I thought the chicken was slightly too tough for my liking. But the mushrooms was really tasty.

Lunch Specials that day was Spaghetti with beef tenderloin cubes ($20). The beef was well marinated and cooked till tender. Pasta was flavoured with chilli, garlic and olive oil. Love it!

You probably have read many blog posts of me ordering a plate of Big Breakfast. Kith Cafe’s Big Breakfast ($16.50) has smoked baked, scrambled egg, grilled tomatoes, sausages, mushrooms, toasted bread.

To be frank, I am not a really big fan of Big Breakfast. And there is nothing much to write about Big Breakfast because everywhere else serves the same bacon, eggs and sausages.

But ordering Big Breakfast gives me a happy feeling. Probably because I only get to eat Mcdonalds Big Breakfast once in a blue moon on a Sunday. So when I order Big Breakfast from cafes, it just makes me happier.

And how can we leave Kith without trying their coffee! Kith’s distinctive blend is neither too weak nor strong, and boasts a rich and deep coffee flavour, without a bitter aftertaste.

I had a cup of Flat White ($4), while the partner had Caramel Cookie Milkshake ($8.50). And we spent the rest of our afternoon people watch. Hits and misses, but I don’t mind coming back again for some pasta and coffee.
