If there’s one thing I’ll never say no to, it’s free-flow banchan – and guess what? I found a new spot that does it with style. Say annyeong to Korea Culture, the brand-new casual semi-buffet restaurant opening 15 April 2025 at Changi Airport Terminal 3. And trust me, you’ll want to be the first in line.

This isn’t your usual K-BBQ joint. Think themed dining, like walking onto the set of Squid Game, where the friendly staff (in full costume!) greet you before you tuck into hearty Western-Korean fusion mains, over 50 free-flow side dishes, and all-you-can-eat Häagen-Dazs ice cream. I repeat, unlimited. Häagen. Dazs.

Brought to you by the same folks behind Taiwan Culture and Penang Culture, this new concept brings authentic Korean ingredients to the table – and they don’t skimp on quality. Every bite bursts with the kind of flavour you only get from real Korean gochujang and fermented goodness.

I went straight for the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap ($24.80), and it did not disappoint. The beef was tender, slightly sweet, and beautifully marinated. But what truly sealed the deal was the house-made kimchi butter sauce – creamy, spicy, tangy – like a warm hug in a bowl. I also tried the Fish & Chips with Gochujang Butter ($24.80) because how often do you see that? Chef Edward Lee’s inspired twist gives this classic a fiery Korean kick with a silky butter glaze I’d gladly eat by the spoonful.

For something a little luxe, the Ginseng Chicken Soup ($48.80) is incredibly comforting – perfect for days you want a nourishing meal. The broth is deeply flavourful and herbaceous, with fall-off-the-bone tender chicken. It’s a dish that reminds you of halmoni’s cooking, if your grandma was a Michelin-level chef.

The Fried Chicken with Korean Soy Sauce ($24.50) was another crowd-pleaser – golden, crispy, and slicked in a glossy, sweet-savory glaze. And if you’re feeling indulgent, go for the Grilled Lamb Rack ($42.90) smothered in tangy bulgogi sauce – juicy, meaty, and oh-so-satisfying.

Don’t worry if you’re bringing little ones – their Kids’ Menu (from $11.80) has child-friendly bites like mini burgers and nuggets with fries.

Now, let’s talk about dessert. Free-flow Häagen-Dazs. I mean… what more do you want me to say? Just save room.

Oh – and if you’ve always wanted to reenact your Squid Game dreams without actual danger, here’s your chance. From 15 to 30 April, take on Korean games like Ddakji, Jegi, Gong-gi, Dice, or Rock Paper Scissors for a chance to win up to 50% off your total bill. Every win = 10% off. Time to start practicing.
