Situated along Hong Kong Street, Amò is the place to visit for a harmonious blend of authentic Italian traditions crafted with modern techniques. The elegantly chic space is a perfect reflection of their decadently classy menu featuring courses of starters, mains and even dessert for $58 Nett per pax. Awaken your palate with their Marinated Olives paired with anchovies and spiced dressing, before getting started on the Burrata Campana with drizzles of mint and basil pesto, and apple balsamic.

It’s not quite an Italian meal without a pasta dish and the Artisanal Trofie, which sees handmade pasta topped with oven baked wild mushrooms and pulled beef shank in a toothsome orange salmoriglio, is lovely. For your main dish, select between the Seafood al Cartoccio comprising red snapper, white clams, Atlantic squid and Amalfi lemon, or the Charred Iberico Pluma with sides of tomato and chickpea hummus, and a broccolini and chilli vinaigrette. Bring your meal to a luxuriously sinful conclusion as you savour the richness of the Ariaga Dark Chocolate Tart.

Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery

We usually break out bak kwa during the Chinese New Year festivities but Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery turns them into gourmet meals for you to enjoy all year round. For $40 Nett per pair, slurp up their soup of the day, followed by any two mains of your choice. The DIY Sliders are a fun way to get creatively hands-on as you build a mini-burger with a coin-shaped bak kwa patty, caramelised onions, quail eggs and housemade sambal mayonnaise.

You can also opt for the Capsicum & Gourmet Bakkwa Pizza or if you’re in the mood for pasta, they have Capellini Carbonara and Gourmet Aglio Olio. And yes, both of them are topped with bak kwa! As for dessert, you’ll get to have a taste of their Bakkwa Ice Cream. The creamy vanilla ice cream comes peppered with bits of actual bak kwa! Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery also houses a bona fide wine cellar which gives you the chance to bougie up your dining experience with a wine pairing ($11.90 per pax, $18.90 per pax) of Chateau Ame de Musset alongside tasting portions of sliced pork, sliced chicken and minced pork bak kwa.
