Nadim’s Delights – Is the Cheesy Burger as Delicious as It Looks?

Singaporeans love cheese. From rich and creamy cheesecakes and baked cheese tarts, to savoury cheese fries and toasts, anything cheesy wins our hearts.

When we heard of the Burger Banjir at Nadim’s Delights, we knew we had to try it out.

We dropped by at around 3.30pm on a weekday afternoon, hungry for a cheesy tea time snack. Nadim’s Delights was closed then, but they agreed to prepare a Burger Banjir for us.

At $7.50, this calorie-bursting plate comes with baked beans, fries and the signature sight of a cheese-drenched double patty chicken burger.

However, I guess our expectations were set too high when we sank our teeth into this cheese-trophe. Instead of the usual fresh lettuce and tomatoes found in a burger, the eatery decided to use coleslaw instead, which didn’t go too well with the cheese. Instead of fresh chicken patties done on a grill, we were greeted with the frozen processed kind that boasted little to no chicken flavour..

The cheese – the ‘star’ of the dish – was watered down nacho cheese. It was very watery and diluted, and didn’t taste good at all. Also, the fries were really stale.

For $7.50, we could get the chicken chop or fish and chips, which we feel would probably be much more worth the buck than the burger banjir.

We are sure that a picture of a burger with so much cheese will rake up the likes on your ‘gram. However, we feel that the hype over this monstrous cheese-flooded dish will soon die down.
