The Plain Cafe- Life is Too Short For Bad Coffees

Located at Craig road, The Plain is a Melbourne-style Cafe offering good coffee and hearty breakfast. The ambience here is very casual with simple furniture. Just a few weeks ago, I met the girlfriends for brunch here.

I started with a cup of Cuppuccino ($4) while waiting for the ladies to arrive. It is fragrant, robust and well-rounded.

Breakfast is served all-day here, which is perfect for those who can’t get up early in the morning. They don’t have a menu ready at your table. You can view the menu on the wall near the entrance. Don’t expect anything fancy, the items here are quite simple – toasts, eggs, sandwiches.

I tried the half portion of the Darling’s Eggs ($7.50) . Paired with ham to add saltiness and cheese to add a richer flavour, the sourdough toast is topped with roma tomatoes to give a clean zest finish. Not forgetting its perfectly done poached egg. Truly satisfying.

The girlfriend ordered Beef Pastrami ($9.50) with semi-dried tomatoes, sweet chilli relish, cheese & rocket which she loves it too.

Good coffee, I don’t mind coming back here during weekdays (because it is not easy to get a seat during weekends), spend my afternoon reading a book with a cup of coffee. It does help that the staffs are super approachable and treat their customers like friends.
